Renovations on Diehl Lodge

This camping season is Camp Hunt’s 63rd!  Praise the Lord!  Over the years, the lives of thousands of young people have been changed through the ministry of Camp Hunt.

Camp Hunt is able to minister the way it does because of generous support from members of churches of Christ.  Our registration fee of $185 per camper, per week does not come close to covering the operational expenses of camp, and it certainly does not cover the cost of construction projects.

Therefore, each Spring we make a special fundraising appeal for the projects scheduled for that year.  We ask the Christians who believe in and benefit from Camp Hunt’s ministry to make a contribution.  We are encouraging the congregations in New York State which support camp to choose one of these two Sundays for the Spring collection, either March 28, 2010, or April 11th, 2010 (If another date works better for your congregation, then feel free to have the collection on that day).

Last year’s Spring Collection helped to complete the Dorothy Page Health Center.  How thankful we are for the generous support that was given.  The Health Center was completed and used during last summer’s camping season.  What a wonderful, beautiful, and useful building it is!  Praise God!

This year the board has designated the funds from the Spring Collection to be used for renovations on Diehl Lodge and for other operational expenses.  Diehl Lodge serves as our primary housing for staff and has been such an asset to camp’s ministry for more than 40 years.  It is in need of a new roof, new flooring in the main hallway, two new doors and the replacement of many of the windows (which have already been donated).  Our goal for the Spring Collection is $14,000.

We know that these are tough economic times, but we trust that God is able to supply what is needed through His people.  Please prayerfully consider this need and as you are able, contribute.  When writing checks for this Spring Collection, please make them out to Camp Hunt and make note in the memo area that it is for the “Spring Collection.”
