Plans to Replace the Old Bathroom Building!
We are very excited about the way our plans for the 2017 camping season are coming together! And as always, Camp Hunt needs your prayers, participation and financial support.
Camp Hunt is able to minister the way it does because of generous support from members of churches of Christ. The registration fee for a week at camp does not come close to covering the operational expenses of camp, and it certainly does not cover the cost of construction projects. Therefore, in the Spring of each year, we make a special fundraising appeal to cover the projects and operational expenses designated by Camp Hunt’s Board of Directors for that year. We ask the Christians who believe in and benefit from Camp Hunt’s ministry to make a contribution.
I am delighted to bring you good news. Most of you are aware that Camp Hunt fell behind in our official, required reporting to the IRS and we experienced the automatic revocation of our tax exempt status in September of 2015. I am thankful to report that we were able to complete all the required returns and we submitted our application for retro-reinstatement within the 15 month window, and therefore, our tax exempt status has been retroactively reinstated. In actuality, this means that it is as if our tax exempt status had never been lost. Any donations made from September 14, 2015 to the present, are now tax deductible because our tax exempt status has been restored. Thank you for your prayers about this matter.
Our Spring Collections and fundraising efforts last year allowed us to roof several of the girl’s cabins, to repair the ceiling in OG Hall, and to purchase another used golf cart with a dump box designed for maintenance. Thank you for your contributions!
Those who have used the old white cabin bathroom over the years are going to be really excited by this news…preparations and plans are being made to replace that old bathroom building with a brand new one! That old bathroom has served us for many years, first at the old mess hall and then at the white cabins, but a new one is sorely needed. With that project in mind, our goal for the Spring Collection is $20,000. We hope that you will be in a position to donate to this project in the special Spring collections in our partnering congregations or by sending a donation directly to Camp Hunt for this purpose. As always, any monies given that exceed the project needs can be used for other operational expenses.
We trust that God is able to supply what is needed through His people. Please prayerfully consider Camp Hunt’s plans and ministry and contribute as you are able. When writing checks for the Spring Collection, please make them out to Camp Hunt, Inc. and make note in the memo area that it is for the “Spring Collection.”
With hope and gratitude,
David Owens, President
