Due to Pandemic, Contribution will be used for Operational Expenses

Dear Friends of Camp Hunt,

Last year was a challenging year for the entire world, and one of the saddest years for Camp Hunt, since we were not able to have camp. For the first time in Camp Hunt’s 70+ year history there was no summer camp!

We are doing our best to ensure that doesn’t happen again this year and we need your help! So far, New York State has announced that summer camps should be able to operate, but we have not received any other guidance or requirements about holding camp as the pandemic recedes. We are proceeding with plans to operate by hiring a staff and getting necessary permits. We decided to reduce the number of weeks and the camper numbers of each week, in anticipation of health department limits and cautious parents.

Our primary goal this year is to provide the very best Christian camping experience possible with whatever limitations and obstacles we may face. This year, we are not planning to do any major building expansion or repair projects, nor will there be program additions. This year’s Spring contribution will be used solely for operational expense, because we are anticipating lower camper numbers, and because we didn’t have our regular source of income last year. So your contribution at this time is needed more than ever.

Our goal for the Spring Collection this year is $13,500. We understand that for many, this pandemic has been financially devastating, but we are hoping that there are others who will be in a position to make a donation to the Spring collections in our partnering congregations or by sending a donation directly to Camp Hunt for this purpose.

We trust that God is able to supply what is needed through His people. Please prayerfully consider Camp Hunt’s plans and ministry and contribute as you are able. When writing checks for the Spring Collection, please make them out to Camp Hunt, Inc. and make note in the memo area that it is for the “Spring Collection.”

With hope and gratitude,
David Owens, President
